Faculty + Staff Writing Group

Get some writing done!

The Faculty + Staff Writing Group has been one of the Writing Centre’s most beloved programs. Every week, faculty colleagues gather to talk (a little) about their writing projects and goals; we then set timers and write, getting done in 90 minutes what can take hours without the accountability of a writing community.

**OCT. 7 SESSION IS IN-PERSON IN ROOM D2315**

Please e-mail writingcentre@ecuad.ca if you have any questions.

Pandemic Stories Spring 2022

Weekly drop-in online writing group

Pandemic Stories is running this Spring at a new time!

Join this weekly Zoom drop-in space to explore your pandemic stories through writing. Each Tuesday’s lunch hour session from 11:30AM – 12:30PM will centre around a theme:

Joy – Jan 25

Nourishment – Feb 1

Connection – Feb 15

Growth – Mar 1

Humor – Mar 8

Comfort – Mar 15

Coping – Mar 22

Grief – Mar 29

No previous writing experience is needed to join this space, just a desire to connect and reflect. Feel free to stay for an additional half hour until 1PM.

Each session will start with a collaborative writing ice breaker. Then we will have time to work on our own writing separately. At the end of each session there will be an option to go around and share what we are each working on, and share resources as needed. Come with an idea or respond to a prompt. The group will meet weekly throughout the semester – you can drop in to single sessions and do not need to sign up for the whole series.

We are also publishing a zine. You may choose to submit works that you started and/or finished during the sessions. You can choose to be named, or remain anonymous in the printed zine. We will focus on writing in the space but you can submit other kinds of printable media as well – drawings, photographs, etc.

This series is hosted and curated by Sunny Nestler.

TO JOIN US:

Please register here (just your name and e-mail is required) for any session in this series and you will receive a unique room link (please do not share–it only works for you!) You should only have to register once and the link will work for any of the sessions.
