The Writing Centre offers a number of groups and programs focused on different types of writing and writing processes.
*All of these programs run September – April only unless otherwise noted.
Summer Book Club (June through August 2020)
- What: Bring your own book and join us to share and discuss our favourite reads this summer in video chat meetings.
- Who: Anyone
- When: One meeting a month
- Where: BlueJeans chat rooom

30 Day Writing Challenge (June 2020)
- What: Developing a regular writing practice. You set your goal and we provide the support! We will also have weekly optional video meetings to talk about goals and stumbling blocks.
- Who: Anyone
- When: Meetings every Monday
- Where: Writing Centre main area

Drop-in Appointments (September through April)
- What: Need a quick brainstorming session or a second set of eyes? Appointments run approximately 20 minutes and are first come, first served.
- Who: Anyone
- When: Monday – Friday, 2:00 – 4:00
- Where: Writing Centre main area
Wordsmiths of Emily Carr (September through August)
- What: A club for creative writers–experienced or aspiring
- Who: All students, regardless of experience.
- When: Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:30PM
- Where: Writing Centre Main Space
Letter Writing Collective Pop-up (TBA)
- What: A pop-up event where you can write and share your love of handwritten and typed letters. We’ll provide the typewriters and stationery.
- Who: Anyone
- When: On a pop-up basis
- Where: Writing Centre Main Space
Faculty Writing Group
- What: Based on the Shut Up & Write model
- Who: All faculty members, including sessional instructors.
